Q: Would there be any reason why someone would buy up old EV Boxes ?

sounds to me that person is probs buying em to ship em to a country which is still runing the 1800 stream still

or

he is buying them and selling them on to peeps in UK and doesnt know about the N3 Virus.

I don't think they would work on Nagra1 abroad (if there is any left !) because I suspect the keysets are not setup.

And I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to buy a box now,
