Default Box Keys

hello, im new to chippin boxes and have ordered a card programmer.
ive been told to buy fun cards as they are easier to use, and dont get zapped as easy.
well my question is if the box key is not wrote on the bottom of the stb, how do in go about gettin the numbers. does the programmer get them or do i have to connect my stb to my pc.

if the box is a 1000 model then you can get it from the database, any other box without a boxkey would need re-chipping, if boxkey not found.

Highholmer, if you have not got a boxkey or cant find it, your box will need re-chipping to get the boxkey.

have had a good read of the forum but cant seem to find the answer to this,
what is involved in rechipping a std box, is it a case of removing the atmel chipps and reading them to get the boxkey/ird or im i way off

Yes - you should also be able to read the Original Smart Card with the right equipment

Like a T911 glitcher to unlock the card, then maybe the dynamite if it goes into phoenix mode. There is a MOSC tutorial on the gmail which might help.

can anyone post a step by step way of chipping box and card from start to finish, i just can get my head round it, please please i'd be so greatful. what do i need to buy etc
