Is anyone using this box, I have been offered one of these twice now (Didnt take the option first time round)

It is basically plug and play & connects to a free server

Is this a CS box or is something else.

I am just a little confused as to how this can work ie fre server etc

Any advice would be a great help

If you put protek 9600ip in the google search engine you will get lots of information mostly stating how good the receiver was, at the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008, but that the servers kept going down and the last report I read, from August 2008 was asking when the servers would be working again.
I can't tell you if the servers are working again, or if so how long they will be working, it's the chance you take when joining a server scheme.

Hard wired card share system

Unreliable as hell - dont waste your money.

Have to agree on the uselessness of the Protek. Though they did work well when they worked, but the server was unreliable. I believe it is back up working now but I haven't used it since the beginning of the year. If you can get it for free then grab it and play but otherwise don't bother, my opinion.

As for which ip receiver to use, I suppose the Dreambox or a clone as they have loads of support, but I have no experience with them.

but with a dreambox,you still have to pay for services

It would be good if you could connect a dreambox to the protek servers

Hi DLINKLA1
The box is fine just look in the right forum and all will be
revealed.
You would be looking for files and its a Protek Try reversing them
and Google and .com

I am not familiar with the nfusion.
The Protek 9600IP or Nanoxx 9600IP works on Lan
Software T59 k19.Both forums have them.Google
them.

Works well for me.
