New v+ Box to Amplifier

Right i know the new V+ Box doesn't have any phono sockets on the back ,just a optical output.
Now my mate has a jvc surround sound system.He is running a hdmi cable from v+ box to his tv and his surround sound is connected via scart from his surround to vcr on v+ and he is getting sound i tried using scart to phono and no luck.
Anyone tried this and got it working.
I can't belive the idiots who make the box pulled the phono sockets.

do u mean the samsung box?

a scart to phono is normally only one way, buy one you can switch as could be going the wrong way for your needs.

also

Use the tv optical input for the v+ box as I don't really see any point in having the tv connected your way
Don't forget to set the audio option within the vm settings menu to HDMI Audio override = on

Yes its a samsung ,my tv is connected via hdmi and all i want to do is to take the sound from my v+ box to my amp so i can watch films ,music and have the sound coming through my amp.

yep got the same prob here... however the samsung v+ has optical out...
you can get a cheap 5.1 amp with optical in or the newer ones have hdmi as well, and hey presto.. get a optical switcher from fleabay and you can then bring your optical feed in from your dvd / xbox virgin etc... they're only about a tenner with a couple of optical toslink cables as well.
