does the light on the ethernet need to be green all the time? Mine is a constant amber at the bottom right & rarely it flashes green. at what point will the information fields on the ip setup page become populated with anything other than 000.000 etc? mine also has the mac address showing but never anything else. the istream does not have any id when trying to login. it will say connecting, but never connect. is all this down to my broadband connection or box or both?cheers stu |

hello,
just to update, problem was caused by a router problem. 3rd router worked. ip field etc filled. for point of information routers used were a s*y, belkin & finally a 2wire. I am still experincing the login id. it says connecting but doesnt. my pals box has a login id showing. Any tips for this? would a particular firmware be the answer? cheers stu |

got mine working as follows :
logged into my router via a web browser, went to lan ip set up. manually entered a spare IP address ie. 192.168.0.8 then entered the mac address of the HD Combo. Went back to the starview menu - IP setup - all auto settings were there and happy. Checked my channels - all back up happy days (for now)

my problem was down to internet speed. I have upgraded to fibre optic, was on sky. sky router wouldnt field ip address, nor did a belkin. then tried a bt 2wire, fields populated but didnt connect to ustream. my advise after all the carry on i had is upgrade your internet speed. i hope this helps. stu |
