If you dont have motherboard CD, check the name of your audio chip. Its a chip near audio IN/OUT Mic connectors on board. In most cases audio card is integrated on motherboard.

Was it the sound card that came with your PC? If it is there's usually a system restore file on disk that came with your PC, check those.

Try to upgrade the driver and it should work fine.
