Hi all,
Ive just found out by chance about the existance of starview and eurovox boxes and what they do.....Boy have I had a sheltered life! The same chap who told me about them also told me about this forum, ill be buying him a pint. My questian is which version of Eurovox max is better - 2007 or 2006 ? I would have assumed 2007 (red box) would be the one to go for. I understand that the 2007 model has a different tuner chip so its not possible to upgrade a 2006 model to 2007 spec with software. Dont know if it makes any difference but im from the West Midlands, formarly Twest territory but now Vgin. I appologise if this has already been answered, I have had a look before posting this thread. Please do reply if you have an answer to my questian. Ta for any help |

Just like to add that I emailed a seller on ebay who sell both 2006 and 2007 eurovox models, he says that the 2006 model is the better one. They do seem sell for less money.
Also, im on a pretty good vision package with my cable company. Looking through the TV listings on my cable box, there dont seem to be many more channels I could subscribe to. This is puzzling because looking at the posts on this forum, other people are getting well over 100 channels on their eurovox, starview etc. I can understand that for satalite there are loads of companies transmitting, but one a cable network is controlled by one company. Can anyone explain ? Cheers |

Not quite true,,,the 2007 Red Box version firmware WILL NOT WORK in a 2006 Blue Box...There is a 2007 Blue Box firmware available that will give you the new now/next epg at the bottom of the screen..

Quite true Tommy-m
The tuner in the red box is different from the blue box . For some strange reason even the channel list files are not compatible |
