Default feedback on HTC Desire

hi folks iam gonna take out another phone contract, and want to go the android route (and not buy into the iphone hype), and the phone i have in mind is the HTC Desire, i just wanted some feeback off any people that have currently got one, just the pro's & cons of it really.

also ive read rumours of a possible dual core htc phone coming out at the end of the year/early next year. so i dont want to take out a 24 month contract only for a new flagship HTC to come out very soon (granted new phones will always come out once in a contract anyway) but at the same time i cant wait i need a droid fix so i think desire it will be.

also wots fuss with the froyo update, wot does it do to the phone etc etc.

cheers fnr3

Desire the daddy iphone killer mine is rooted and running leedroid cooked rom fast dont even begin to describe it... Froyo brought us better flash and A2SD (apps to SD) but its ***** as devs need to support it way forward is A2SD+ which forces appz to Ext 3 partition on the SD card which the phone uses as internal memory

I'm also looking at the Desire. Got an Nokia N97 at the moment, but due for a change.

Phones aren't really my thing, so what's the differance between the Desire and the Wildfire ? Will they both run the Dishpointer App, as that would come in really handy ? and if you had to pick between them which would it be and why ?

I don't want an I phone. A) it's not covered for next day replacment on my business line, and instead has to be sent back to apple. and B) the warranty dosen't last as long as the contract, so in good old dragons den style "I'm Out"

Wildfire is a cheaper version of the desire basically it should run most apps but you will always ask what if..... If you can afford the extra amount get the desire.. I even find I use my pc less, most of my browsing is done on my phone, using it now with dolphin HD browser....

Thanks, looks like the Desire it is. The cost dosen't make any odds, I can have either free renewing my contract. Before I order it, is there anything coming up in the next few weeks worth waiting for ?
