Default Starview 4 Usb - FTA or not FTA?

One thing ive never tried is to use the aerial input of the Starview Usb - I wonder if it picks up Freeview as the cable input does? After all it is sold originally as a FTA receiver - My father lives in an area without cable so he might be able to use it - just a thought for those with a doorstop!

So why does it include a standard rf aerial connector labelled "ANT IN" (Antenna IN) as well as TV Out output to a tv standard rf input? This is in addition to the cable connectors in/out.

Im talking about the SV 4 Usb.

I know its a cable box but always wondered why they included standard rf connectors - might open it up and see if they are actually connected but its still useful as a pvr for the channels i have left.

My questions is can you actually use it with a digital terrestrial aerial.
I would presume you would need the original firmware which it has!
Ive argued about this on other forums but i think the hack firmware causes the box to lose its ability to scan from the ANT In socket?
