got the dish up 2day but iv a big problem

ok im using dm 500 with pli jade and tm 2600 motor

i picked that drive to satellite and it i thought i thought i sent it to 26e but in went right round in the west as far as it cud go and hit the backet and jamed.

then went up the ladder was tryin to get it back to 0 back hitting the east button so it started moving but then it just stop after just a wee bit and wouldnt go any further just east just west would going right round and jamming unto the bracket have broke the motor?.
i then went to the dreambox and hit send back to 0 and it went of the scale on the to the west again lucky i the motor was still spin round on the top of the pole.
does anybody know why its doing this?
also i didnt set any hardware limits coz this is all new to me i should set the software limits if any1 can tell me how to do that?

Hi, you have to take the shaft off to set the hardware limits, there are some screws that need to be undone.
I've rarely been able to get DM500 clones driving a motor ok with USALS, they never seem to work properly. Though diseqc 1.2 usually works OK.

rite ok mate is that wat wud explain it going the wrong way west of the limits?
i didnt do the hardware limits because i didnt know how hard it is to do wat should i set them at? i tryed the software limits after that happened disconnected from the motor but it dosent seem to be working ok just says drive to the sat even tho i picked it to be off limits?

i entered my
long 54.000 west
lat 5.900 north just wanna to check if they the correct incase that was it?
yh i brought the box 2nd hand so not sure weather its a clone or not id say it prob is tho.

can u tell me how i go though diseqc 1.2?

You have your long and lat the wrong way round.


The motor should both ways using the buttons. if it doesn't I don't know why not.
I couldn't tell you how to use diseqc1.2 on your receiver, I generally just fumble may way through the menus on Linux machines until I find the right one.

maybe that wat explains wat happined to my motor 2day.

wat wud u advise me to set my hardware limits at?

Don't bother setting them unless the dish is going to hit something, and then set appropriately so that the dish doesn't hit anything, or you can use the software limits.

yh i need limits or it hit the wall. i was pretty up for doing the software limits so i didnt have to take the motor apart. i tryed a few times with motor disconnected but it would say moving to the off limit sat on screen.

can u give me a step by step guide on how to set the software limits dave?
