Default TM300D New Firmware

hi all,

I ve had some problem with my technomate 3000D few days ago, I was searching for a channel to watch basketball world cup, when i got a message saying full channel list. and than my reciever stoped working. I tried it a hundred times, it is not responding, just froze on channel 1, 0001 on the display screen

anyway i went today and bought RS 232 null modem cable, connected to my computer and to the reciever, restarted it, downloaded the loader and the firmware from technomate website. loaded it properly, auto detect com port. start and:

nothing happen:
it just says transfering on my computer and it stays for a long time.

on the other hand, on the reciever itself nothing is changing,

what I noticed on my reciever is that the red light is on on the display screen instead of the green ( does it mean it is stuck on standby or what )
i am really not sure what to do, but I did what I did after following all the experts comments here. thanks a lot anyway, as I would never know that I can connect my reciever without reading a few things here.

anyway one more thing to add, my reciever is technomate 3000D

thanks a lot for your help guys

Downloading new firmware doesn't normally clear the channel list. Downloading a new channel list would have done though. You could try that I suppose, that should work, if the firmware you've already tried to download hasn't already corrupted the receiver.

Hi Robbo and thanks for your reply,
I did not know that this will not clear the channels, I honestly did not even know that you can connect the reciever to the PC. I followed the advice of the technical support guy from Technomate. and followed the instructions posted in this forum.

Now what is happening is, I think my reciever is stuck on standby ( if the red light on the display screen means standby ) I am not sure really, I am going to try again today, if it does not work it means sadly I will have to buy a new one, my wife is nagging she wants to watch her favorite program on an a Lebanese channel and I ruined it looking for a basketball game.
if you have any suggestions please let me know

thanks
