Default Ethernet mac changed - modem down

mate has a sb5100 and the sb5100 mod on it, he changed the ethernet mac and of course we can't get back into the modem, i hear that you can telnet into the modem but i have no idea of how to get the ethernet mac back to what it was, any ideas on how to get it back up and running please, and yes have slapped him for changing the wrong mac!

Thanks buddy, i will try and telent into the modem tonight, I'm a little confused as to what to change the mac address too? any ideas, thanks for the reply again.

TBH i aint got a sb5100mod about, but going off my head i cant see why changing the ethernet mac won't let you in to the web gui. unless u have changed the web gui log on address instead.

b4 you start messing i would try the modem on another computer and see if it lets you in and also try it without the coax feed in and see if it lets you in

good call, will give it a go the night, me mate said that he changed the mac address of the modem and that he then could not get back into the config page 192.168.100.1:666 - any way I'll have a go the night and get back to you.

I suppose every single device that's connected to the net has a unique ethernet mac and messing with it is going to break it, but I'll have a go.

change the default gateway of the network card to 192.168.100.10 you will be able to enter the page.
