Hi All!

I have just got a 1.25m diameter dish. Is there a particular type of lnb that i should use with this dish in order to maximise the signal from a fringe reception? i.e. feed horn, integrated lnb and feedhorn or just an lnb? I currently have an inverto black ultra.

I get the impression that i am not getting the full benefit from the increase in dish size (I previously had a 1.1m dish).

The type of LNB depends on weather the dish is Prime Focus or Offset. Prime focus dishes usually have a matched feedhorn and take a c120 LNB, offset dishes generally use a LNB-F like the black ultra, though there are some exceptions like the FIBO dishes.

What sort of dish is it you have m8 ?

Gibertini do a feedhorn for their dishes too, but I don't which would perform better, LNBF or matched feed. Try it I suppose.

Hi all!!

It's a Faval dish (see: -http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-2m-ALLOY-SATELLITE-DISH-1-3m-x-1-2m-AZ-EL-Mount-/330468814490?pt=UK_ConEle_SatCableFreeview_RL&hash =item4cf179ee9a). It may not be the best dish but it's the only company that was willing to deliver a dish of this size to me. Any thoughts on what would be the best way to max the signal on this?

The Black Ultra has a fairly long neck, have you played about with the focal length by moving the LNB in the holder ? And have you also played with the skew of the LNB ?

According to the specs the Faval has a 1.5db gain advantage at 11.7GHz over the TD110
