sparky ur going around in circles here m8.

look if u try ur m8s mac in ur modem it wont work this is because his ambit 256 is bpi 1.1 enabled. and so it wont work for you niether will various other macs in ur modem as they are now bpi 1.1.

so u need put macs in which are still docsis 1.0 they are the macs which i told you in one of ur previous post, most other macs just wont work. and iam sure most other ambit macs wont work (100/120 model macs might.)

the other downside is if keep trying loads of different macs and the 1st few dont get u online then ive found that the modem gets blacklisted for a few days sometimes a week. and then the only thing you can do is leave it off for over a week and then change the mac (MUST BE A GOOD WORKING DOCSIS 1.0 MAC NOT A GUESS WHICH MIGHT BE ONE) and serial no. etc etc without the coax feed in and once u changed them and rebooted, put the coax feed back in and you should get online. the only problem then is if u unplug or reboot ur modem or get a pwer cut then u mac and modem will go dead again.

you see we have asked to to check a few different things for us and to post back but then u post back with somthing new or a small bit of info for what we asked.

iam not having a dig at you m8, iam just trying to help but it would be nice if u could help us narrow things down by post back with a bit more info

iam no expert on all this myself but i will try help ya.

if my memory serves me right i read the other reason you wont sniff many good macs is beacause they was now encoded or something. this is why there are only a good handfull of working macs about now which people tend to keep for them and not trade.

the log shows that on connection the modem was 'told' to go check if it needed a fw update by way of the docsis 1.1 config file it downloaded from the tftp.

it went to check,

the only update which was available on the tftp it already had

it then continues to use the docsis 1.1 config file

docsis 1.1 basically = docsis 1 + freq +bpi+ settings
