Surely the only people who want to know that are those that want to dump their boxes on unsuspecting people?

It can be quite useful if you can find somebody who is willing to cardshare with you for a while. Being simulcrypt during the changeover, the resultant CW is the same on N1 (exTW net) as it is on N3.

You dont need the rsa pairing keys to share the N1 CW, only the boxkey. Its only useful as a very temporary measure though.

so the control word algorythms are the same fo n1 and n3?

would this help in the search for the magic rsa kys...or would several dumps from the same model box on n3 be more useful?

No, but whilst a system is simulcrypt the resultant CW must be identical. The ECM's need to produce a clear picture from the same encrypted streamdata.

Remember that the streamdata itself is not encrypted using N3, N1, NDS or any other encryption system you'd normally hear about. Its always encrypted using a system called content scrambiling system (CSA). The only thing the overlying system encrypts is the actual ECM data. Once you have the CW's for a stream it really doesn't matter which system they originated with !
