Smile Dreambox DM800 Alps L3 Satellite Tuner

Hi fellow Techwatch followers,

I was having a little rumage through fleaBay this lunchtime and come across this...

Dreambox DM800 Alps L3 Satellite Tuner on eBay (end time 22-Sep-10 19:38:02 BST)

I currently have Rev K, does anyone else have this Rev yet ?
if so, does is stop the glitching on HD channels ??

Many thanks in advance.

C.S.

the glitching on the channels could be because of 2 reasons

1) to many folks on the server

2) weak tuner

now my mate had the same problem where jus one of the sky sports channels was freezing.

However after buying an inline amp... the freezing issue was solved.

Dm 800 are known to have this issue and the inline amp does cure the problem as it cured the issue on my mates clone box.

I suggest before u get that Tuner... I would advice you to get the inline AMP and test it out first.

Hi Mate,
Thanks for your reply
Ive already got an inline amp running

SNR from 28.2E is anything from 50% to 69%
ive also got the box sitting on a cool pad & short PF100 coax run from dish.

Regards,
C.S.

Have you tried putting the Inline Amp where the LNB is. and then see if that solves it for you.

I dont have the box,, but I was advised by another MOD in another forum to put it there.. apprently it works better.

So in other words rather then putting in on the of where the receiver connects... you put it where the LNB is located.

Thanks for the advice, but it made no difference to to the signal or glitching

I set the dish up on 1W, SNR 83% stable. is that normal to get a lower signal on 28.2E ?

Cheers

Sounds like your arc could be slightly off. Easy way to test, send the dish to 28e and gently flex the edges of the dish, see if you can improve the signal any. If you can improve the signal, then you need a little tweaking to get the dish tracking properly.
