hey everyone, i've got a bit of a problem with an acer aspire 5310 it's running on vista basic. first off the touch pad is erratic to say the least you cant type anything without the cursor jumping around everywhere and making what your typing come out as complete nonsense. i've tried turning down the sensetivity but nothing. also if anyones got a step by step walthrough for putting xp on and getting rid of the vista(in very easy steps for dummys) that would be brilliant.
here's hoping and thankyou in advance |

All you really need is a Windows XP boot disc and a spare disc or HDD to backup your stuff. Have you tried installing touchpad software (most likely Synpatics)? Maybe it's just that the touchpad is on it's way out as the laptop is pretty old anyway.

simplest guide can be found on this site: Black Viper's Web Site Only thing you need to know is how to access the BIOS thats all and set the first boot device as '' Cd rom'' After that its a straight forward process As far as getting into the BIOS ... if memory serves me right... on Acer laptops its the F2 key which lets you into the BIOS. However shut down the comp... switch it on and you will see on the start up screen.. Either on top right hand corner or bottom left where it say something like this '' Setup - F2'' Boot Menu - F12'' All machines have different keys but on your lappy will tell you which key to press to enter setup.
