u could change the 2-way splitter to a 3-way or another 2-way in either of the cables....modem or dbox.....modem cable may be best as signal drop may affect dbox....

So its ok to change the 2 way that virgin had installed to a "2 in 3 out" splitter and leaving one of the "ins" empty?

u saying u got 2-in, not sure how that works.....there should be arrows showing in and out....sure it's not a 4 way with 4 out sometimes 1 out is on the same side as the in...?

Oooops, slip of the finger, it is inded a 1 in 4 out.

Would i be better getting the 3 way or is it ok to use the 4 way and leave one of the Outs empty?

i actually tried both and signal dropped a lot, i find it better to use 2 x 2-way splitters.....

Usually 1x 3 way is better than 2x 2 way. I certainly wouldn't use a larger one than required.

ok just reading with interest i have starview downstairs and kriptoview upstairs should i ring ntl and ask them to take away my ntl box as i have there phone and broadband my tv has free view built in you see

I am guessing you are in Ireland so the answer is no as TV is required for you to suscribe to BB and phone service AFAIK.

no im in manchester i took the phone and tv years ago then got a pc so aded broadband as a seperate deal

been using for over 2 years without tv box with no dramas so far just this thread got me wondering about the talk back

In that case m8 you can always try,its different here in ireland as you have to subscribe to tv to get their bb and phone.
