dm 500 not communicating with router

hi i have 2 dm500s boxes one downstairs which i've had for a while and i've now purchased one for upstairs but i can only get fta channels upstairs i'm using home plugs to send ethernet signal upstairs but the port i'm connected to is showing orange i've been on dcc and searched router and found the home plug ip double clicked on it and accepted then reconnected pc but the light remains orange,the port that the box downstairs goes in is green and is working fine, on the home plugs the 3 lights are on and solid. any ideas what i'm doing wrong. cheers

Dm500S is a sat box and they do not work with cable... Unless am missing something here mate.

Anyway go into your comumication setup of your box and then untick the DHCP and enter the IP as 000000 after that tick DHCP... save and exit and reboot the router.. Same time check your subnet mask and gateway address as well.

after reboot go back to the communications setup and check if the correct IP allocated

Ping that IP either from router or PC and see if you have any communication.

if you have a Dm500C then they will no longer work on cable as your aware of the N3.

thanks for reply i've defo got dm500s boxes, i did what you said but still the same orange light whatever port i plug ethernet cable into but the box i have downstairs which i've had for a while the port is green and ok.

he means that you have posted a sat question in a cable section.

which is confusing when answering to questions such as yours.

As far as the issue in regards to your ethernet connectivity well am baffled and I can only think that your port has gone faulty and you need to buy a new box.

The S in Dm500 S actually means that the box has a SAT Tuner installed. In which case it makes it a ''sat box''
