Default Can i run two modems from the same account?

I have aquired from somewhere a black virgin modem (the one that you get for 10 meg to 50 meg). I wish to split the signal from my cable box and use that to power this other one. I have a black cable box in the other half of the house that is all paid for legit. Problem is that when i plug it in it won't work, says something about ringing them up to get it configured. Is there any way I can get this to work using my official connection ip number (or whatever you use as I haven't a clue about this) I would appreciate someone to talk me thru it if this is possible, as i am clueless how to do this, please note i have done this many times for other ppl. Cheers

Its not possible to make it work officially. VM dont allow multiple modems on the same account.

Depending on what modem you have you may be able to get it working non officially (ie 'hacked' modem) but, tbh, such things are getting to be a right pain in the behind to actually keep online so unless you have some really pressing need for it or enjoy the challenge then its likely not something you want to get into !
