the only way they can tell is if they decide to look into your ISP's account and see which packets are being sent and received.

or

you tell a friend of a friend in a pub that your using a an illegal STB to receive '' channels''

The box works around the new encryption... As far as if it effects the box am not entirely sure what you mean on this.

Put it this way with all encryption system there is always a counter attacking method which is set in place to combat '' piracy''

Another alternative is if they find the server and raid it. (Shut it down)

you flash the box with the RS232 null modem cable. And you will need the loader as well
