The reason I ask is because I had a eurovox box and this was connected to my modem using a spliter box. So I had my modem with a lead from that going into the back of my eurovox box.

So is there another way of doing this? I always thought the box had to be connected to the internet. If I have a Kyptview a780 how does this pick up channels then if not connected to the internet?
It means what it says, spannermonkey asked if they could be traced, I said yes! Paying full subs to Vir4in or S ly is your only 100% safe bet.

You are confusing me M8. Are you asking about a cable box ?

The channels do not come down the (1) internet, they come down the (2) cable. The internet decodes the channels that come down the cable so that you can view them. You need both cable and ethernet permanently connected.

Hope this helps your understanding.

I don't really get this. How can you be traced if there is no information about you on virmin's system?

If you use a sub modem to send the packets obviously that will draw the attention (if so) and they will know in an instance which user is sending/recieving those packets (highly unlikely in my opinion). They have your username, mac and your home address. On the other hand, if you're not using a subbed modem then there is no record of your MAC (since its not yours) or you or your address etc. So if anything not using a sub would be the safe bet, IMHO.

Thanks.

Using an internet connection is the only way to bypass the N3 security? My friend said he heard about a new box on the horizen that does not need the internet plug in - or is this rubbish?

No m8, the only servers at this moment working on c/s are KV780 and SV7,
