Stop automatic news feeds?

Am thinking of stopping the automatic news feeds into the forums, partly because they aren't getting a positive response from members, but also because I want to start promoting latest threads for individual sections on the front end - but can't do that if the threads are all just repeats of the news!

Anyway, just thought I'd open discussion on the issue and see what people think.

BTW, am also trying a new advertising system called Skimwords - used at a number of other places - will appear as black underlined links in normal posts - intended to provide affiliate links that the form can earn from. No idea how useful, but appears to be well-received due to being non-invasive elsewhere.

Like the last option in the poll. There are too many of them out there so I will stay away from them.

I would have liked another option which says that I read them on home page.
