Hi,
I've recently joined like one of the many newbies as a result of the current situation re N3. I have referenced/reviewed/researched to the best of my limited knowledge but although i have a better understanding of whats happened, i am only slightly less confused than i was in knowing what to do now. Therefore, i should be most grateful if you could answer my following questions and please advise if i've missed anything:

If understood correctly is the only way currently to watch channels like before thru an internet connection.
Correct but its only connected to the Internet for the key exchange.. Which doesnt use hardly any bandwidth. Is this C/S or is there an alternative? Its C/S and yes its the alternative If it is C/S do you pay for the service? No its Free, Buy the box, flash it, plug it in and scan. The info i read is conflicting and could well have more to do with my interpretation but many threads state "f**e tv is a thing of the past* but isn't the alternative just another method? This is the Alternative My old kit was the Box PVR is there an equivalent? if memory serves me right I think the Starview combo is a PVR box.. but am sure someone will shed some light on this. Most reference the KV A780 as a good box but its not a PVR? Its not a PVR box and its not a HD box either. But yes its a very good box. they have the most stable server so far. If there is no PVR option can i connect my current one and how? Dont think you can. I would assume that you could get a DVD recorder and then connect that up and record your programs on there. What are the risks? and how do you de-risk? Risks are involved and yes you can get caught. There is a tutorial on here on how to setup a VPN and what equipment is needed etc etc. Quote:

Thank you.
I would have replied and said '' These questions have been answered before and that you should read such and such sections. But something changed my mind and the paragraph above is what convinced me to answer your questions above.[/QUOTE] I appreciate the frustration of the senior members but there are some want to learn. The vpn tutorial, are you referring to the one from TheCoder? Does going vpn provide the security from big brother? I have read, re-read the thread but to a layman it just adds to the confusion/frustration. Is there a laymans walk through? Regards dab996 |
