sky on hotbird

Hi all

I have a dish mounted towards the hotbird satellites 13E. can I get uk sky channels on this. in addition, can i use my dreambox for this purpose.

no you cant

SKY UK is 28.2E which means you need to re position that dish using a sat finder. if its a big enough dish then you can put in a another receiver / lnb and you shall get 2 sats. 13E and 28E.

But am sure a sat expert will confirm this of course.

think I can answer this one. $ly UK broadcast from the Astra satellites situated at 28.2 degrees East of South. The Hotbird series of satellites are currently situated at 13 degrees East of South, and since they're unlikely to move, the answer to your question, is no, you can't get $ly UK from Hotbird ;-)

13E hotbird has Sky Italia on it, so no, no Sky UK from there. Apparently, Sky Italia is good for the footie though.

hi m8 if your using a dish 60 cm or over,you could use a second LNB to pick up sly ,as the signal is very strong.(UK).

Really needs atleast an 80cm, for all round reception on 13/28. It's doable on a Zone 2 just about, but the elongated shape of the dish helps there. Even so you won't get all weather reception with it.
