I am not sure quite entirely sure what it is you both are trying to achieve here in regards to buying a HD box.

but I suspect the reason you ask this is because you want the channels for free rather then paying a subscription

am I RIGHT?

if that is the case then you its a NO NO... this method no longer works after the encryption change.

Either way if you buy a HD box with a card u still need to subscribe to the channels.

No more free TV and no certainly no more modding of boxes.

you want a box with channels or extras then you look in the starview and Kryptview section

Plenty of posts on what boxes now work.

But......... NO HD channels available @ this time.

this might sound crazy... but would it not be easier if you just buy the box off fleebay for 25 quid and ask VM to send a new card which will work with that box. in otherwords you tel them that u bought the box off ebay and u need a new card which will work with that box.

And then with that all done and dusted u can ask em for the recording feature and so on.

Am not sure about there policies on when peeps buy boxes else where but I would suggest you look into that as that would be a far more easier option in my opinion.

All virgin boxes belong to virgin, buying one off ebay is illegal, the box is not for the person to sell on ebay, it is the property of Virgin, the boxs are not like Sky boxes, you never own a Virgin box.

had a indirect talk to vermin and they said you dont own any virgin receiver any bought or sold is illegal you wont be able to mix and match cards ie pace cards with v+ cards they wont upgrade unless they supply you the box with the suited card so anyone who buys the V+BOX HD or inherits one they are just a fancy freeveiw box
