OK, so I subscribe to VM on the most basic of tarriffs and have been using a Eurovox box without the VM box connected up. But since N3 has started and the Eurovox has become obsolete, I have reconnect the standard VM box and inserted the new card, then let it do it's bootup/update thing which took 10 minutes or so. Now it's all booted up, I'm only getting very few channels, even my freeview box has more channels on offer!
Do I need to call VM up for a further update, and would this be a sign that I have been using a different box to them? Or does someone know a way to further update the box to allow me to watch the channels I'm entitled to? Basically, I'm actually afraid to call them up so soon after the N3 went online lol, do you guys think I'm worrying about nothing? And before anyone suggests I go out and purchase a Starview or Kryptview, I no longer have the need to watch the PPV channels, I only used the Eurovox for Playhouse Disney for my son, but I'm sure he can live with Cartoon Network, which is part of the subscribed channels. Cheers for any help. |

Mate watching channels illegally doesnt entitle you to anything. The only way your entitled to watching there channels is if you are paying them a monthly subscription. Basically, I'm actually afraid to call them up so soon after the N3 went online lol, do you guys think I'm worrying about nothing? Encryption change was done for 2 reason:
or Pay a subscription to them and get it legally.

I'm subscribed to VM on the basic package which entitles me to certain channels, but I'm not getting them. Obviously, using a Eurovox has made my standard VM box redundant, but now I need it, it's not giving me the correct channels I'm entitled to. Is there a way to roboot the Pace box I have to release the channels, or is this a call VM only job? And should I be worried about calling VM up, as their box was not connected up for many years!? |

Because you have left your sub box disconnected for so long all the tiers on the card have expired (or never been written in the first place). VM only transmit initialisation and updates for a small while so it looks like your card has missed them. If you ring up then they will probably guess that you haven't had your box connected but they will re-initialise it anyway. If they query just say you've been away for a few months. Once running, the very basic 'M' packages should give you something roughly equivelent to freeview with channels like Sky3 and Virgin1 (now channel 1) being cleared. btw, when you initially insert the new card, it may take upto 24 hours for it to initialise. The letter with the card should explain that. If it doesn't initialise in 24 hours then you need to call VM Last edited by TheCoder; 28-09-10 at 06:27 PM. |

I thought that the black pace boxes were replaced by them with the new silver samsung boxes.
Apprently they were not able to handle the new N3 cards.
