Its probably a simple attempt to reduce demand to a more manageable level. Having adverts on main pages means more people are likely to spot them by chance !

As they seem to be working quite well I doubt its a fault anywhere.

Would not think so as they are sold as a FTA receiver, as far as im aware there is no law in the UK that stops people selling them.

I've tried this. Obviously as I've used this forum for a while, and he's helped me in the past I wanted to give lincsat the business. We'll see if he gets back to me
