Hi folks, i have set my starview 7 up with no problems whatsoever but have given it to my dad. When i have took it to his house it will not connect to the internet and just comes up not connected all the time.

I have tried reflashing but still no joy.

Any ideas guys. I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not a Starviewer myself, but just a thought, has your father ever had a cable service to his house, or hasn't he been connected in the green box down the road?

ye. he pays a subscription for cable and internet.

i was pretty clued up with the eurovoxes ect but this one has me stumped.

is there a firewall in your router or something blocking the signal or port

not that i know of mate. it doesnt work straight through the modem either.

have you tried removing power from modem and box and doing a fresh boot up

ye mate. ive tried all that. gave up after a hour. ill have a fresh look tmrw. ive tried what you said and i have also tried reflash but to no avail. :-(

I am still baffled by this. I have given it another go. It works at my house on my modem but on the netgear all in one modem at my dads it doesnt work. I can get internet no problem but starview doesnt work. Please help some one.

Hi Mark, When you say the STB is not connecting to internet can you see it on your network?

Are you connecting the STB via a home plug? or are you straight into the modem ?
