Really dont waste your time with vag-com. It is a great program for those who know what they are doing with it but all too often I have seen people cock things up with it. Also do not bother with the ebay colnes, they are getting better and better at making the software and now if you use a clone the software will kill it anyway. Also as you say you will need the key code which you will not be able to get from SEAT. I could calculate the code for you and program the transponder but would need the car with me.

Ask yourself how much you paid for the car, then ask yourself if £120 still sounds expensive? Also ask yourself how much it would cost to put right the damage you could do by attempting it yourself (could be literally thousands). Best bet is to look for a specialist vehicle locksmith. Where are you? Maybe I could recommend someone?

Hi,

I need some help with my 1998 VW Golf. The car has 2 keyless remotes. The doors lock instantly if I use the key however when the remote is used to lock it takes about 50 seconds to actually lock the car. The alarm light gets activated instantly but the doors arent locked. The remote unlocks the doors instantly. Does anyone have any idea if this a feature that can be reprogrammed or do I have a problem with the system.Any help is greatly appreciated.I just purchased the vehicle a few weeks ago.
