The process to get a dreambox working on N3 in the UK has always been public. All it ever required was a bit of application !

No rather that some coders do not agree with what others are doing. One of the reasons why the last fix for 3_7 was not released was because the coders were fed up with leeches. plus the coders already had determined the problem before the firmware update and had resolved it yet didnt release it. But through encouragement and I and a few others on this forum and others went about understanding the fix and trying to resolve it.

The open source solution, some of the boxes arent as open sourced as many people believe and the coders work closely with some of them but having for years detested the money makers, the traders and freeloaders have in fact become them.

So I guess some people need to practice what they preach, not directed at you but im sure your fully aware of what is going on.

And it aint that hard to c/s on the linux boxes, the tools and info is there. Really the same principle on cable as it is on Sat

In the majority of cases wih TV hacking its actually the box builders who come up with the solutions. The coders/programmers that exist on forums like this are mostly in a very poor 2nd place when it comes to innovation, basically because they do it for a hobby and cant afford the fancy techniques that a properly funded company can afford.

That doesn't imply that 2nd place is bad. These people do an amazing job considering they mostly do it without any sophisticated tools and on a budget thats beaten by most schoolkids pocket-money !!!

Indeed its not, the Spanish have been doing CS with the same card for over 18 months. Why nobody here has bothered to look at how they did it and try to use the same techniques is beyond me.. A couple of days basic research (most of it spent interpreting as i'm not exactly the worlds best Spanish reader) and I understood perfectly what was required. I personally have absolutely no interest in implementing it (i'm not interested in TV - only the actual technology) but it astounds me that nobody else has even mentioned any of the techniques used by the Spanish guys.

If people really wanted to get this working then there's already more than enough info available to achieve it but most of the "real" coders simply aren't interested as there's no challenge in it. Its not a real hack in any sense of the word. The best you can call CS is a slight bending of a cards functionality. The fact you can actually CS at all is more down to the system designers ineptitude (notice, not the card designers) than anything else.

Perhaps the problem is too many people inventing conspiracies and accusing others of trying to make money rather than actually trying to learn how to do it for themselves !
