Hi,
I am only really familiar with the lincsat images and find they are great. I have had a problem over the past month or two with the box freezing then reseting. Once i Flash my box set up the channels everything is fine. However when i reboot the dbox once i have a continuall problem of it freezing then reseting. I thought this was a hardware prob but i have a second Nokia DBox and the same thing happens. It does not happen with a Sagem dbox. Is there anything i could do to fix this problem. Lincsat 3.5 seems to work the best. |

Strange that - I've got my beta 4.5 running on one box and my (so far) unreleased 4.6 running on another box, both Nokia's. I've only heard of problems on a sagem as I removed the startup image to save space.
You could try messing with the hardware settings to see if that changes anything. |

There are several other images to try as well - you can try turning hardware sections off in the driver & boot options

Wow you reflash your box every day! Although this in itself is easy it is only a matter of time until you suffer a bad flash. This will result in the all too familiar "Kein system" message and the accompanying hassle and despair of battling with IFA.
If you like Lincsat's image then why not go with his latest one? Otherwise one of the newly released images that have solved the recent autoupdate problem such as Cable Ferret 1.6? |

Yeah in the past i would re-flash it every time but now it sits doing nothing for weeks. I have tried many many different images including all the latets but my box will not recieve any channels at all. I know that its hardware issues as i fix many boxes for friends and family and none have had the same issues when using the same processes and files. I will take out the modem to reduce the cpu work and see if thats a problem. It does seem like the cpu is burnt out a bit. after a while it restarts just like a computer does when you push it to hard or its fried. Will let you know if removing the modem fixes the prob. anymore hardware fixes would be helpful. |
