Starview HD combo - server updates?

Noticed this morning that a lot of the channels I usually receive are now scrambled. Most HD channels, some sly movies not all, sly 1,2,3

I've seen that sly 1 are launching the sly 1 HD today. does this mean that the c/s server will need to be updated? are we going to get it you think?

anyone else missing channels?

Yes glad you posted. Discovery, sky etc all scrambled. I don't see why we would't get sky1hd i presume anyone with sky1 would get it.

the SV combo is a HD box.. Granted!!!

however they dont currently pay for the HD channels

if you your not getting any HD channels at this moment in time

There is no chance you will get SKY One HD

unless its a FTA channel like BBC HD etc

if they're charging twice the price for a HD box then they should surely pay for the HD channels don't you think?

yes you right mate they should do that but this is something out of our hands.

if they decide to add them on in the near future well that remains to be seen.

And quite honestly why would they realease a HD combo box which has a Sat and Cable tuner if they not plannining to add the HD channels on the cable side.

Not entirely true they just don't pay for slyhd channels. There are more than the FTA HD channels: eurosport HD, Discovery HD, MTV HD, ESPN HD and a few more... i think . I believe its every HD channel that is part of the xl package Virgin Media


Granted there should defo be more than we get! But there is a good chance sky1hd may come if its part of the XL package.

your 100% right in regards to the paying side.. obviously that is what c/s is really.. you get the channels which have been subscribed

just checked your link and yes you should be able to receive all HD channels as long as they fall into the XL package. If and when they decide to pay for the sky sports HD channels then it remains to be seen.

There is something wrong here and doesnt really make sense to be honest.. you should be getting all HD channels from the XL package and yet they seem to be scrambled.. Now that does not make any sense @ all.

I wouldnt hold my breath for SKY 1 HD to be there seeing as the discovery channels and so on fall under the XL package as well but they remain scrambled for some odd reason... And if SKY 1 HD is part of the XL package then I wouldnt be so sure that it will actually not remain scrambled.

Also discovery channels you get it but that doesnt mean that you will get the discovery HD channel either.. infact that is scrambled for some odd reason even though the channel is under the XL package.

So unless am confused here or its actually that SV team do not pay for the XL package and instead only for the Large package. Because otherwise you should be able to receive all HD channels under the XL package.

SKY 1 HD falls under the XL package.

checked this morning, most of the missing channels are back on again, including my favourite - discovery HD. Sky1 is working, the info button says that Sky1 is in HD but my eyes tell me otherwise, but the channel labelled as Sky1 HD is still scrambled.
Sky2 & 3 are also scrambled, even after a re-scan.
