I am new to this as well. My setup is Identical to yours, I have just cut my talkback as follows.

Cutting TalkBack Pace 4001
Remove the top cover from the cable box., my box had security screws.
I removed the 3 securitiy screws using some long nose pliers. If you can't do this, you can always buy a security screw driver (maplins), use ordinary screws to do it back up.
The talkback is inside the tuner box, the tuner box is the bit the coaxial cable plugs into (says cable input on box rear) it's a long silver rectangular box at the top left. The tuner box must be removed. To remove the tuner, undo the nut at the back and remove the screw holding the tuner to the main board.
The tuner is now held to the board via a zif socket. you need to gently push the bottom of the tuner outwards to the left (towards outer edge of casing).
push tuner to the left side and with a wiggle ease the tuner out.
straighten the twist pieces on the tuner and remove lid
inside u can either lift the leg or cut the track (see pics)
Then replace lid and re-assemble.
The talkback should be disabled, you can test it by trying to access interactive
it should say not avalible.

I have posted you a reply which needs moderating (contains photos etc). In the meanwhile, you could start by removing the outer casing of the box. You need to remove the 3 security screws, holding the case. You can remove the security screws using pliers.

PS. Whatever you do, do not put the box back on stream yet.

If the box has been on stream, as well as talkingback to cc, the card is almost certainley locked now.

If you managed to remove the outer casing, You will see the IRD printed on sticker on top of the scart circuit case.

The talkback circuitry is inside the tuner.
The tuner is a long silver box at the top left corner.
It's the bit the coaxial cable plugs into (says cable input on box rear)
To remove the tuner, undo the nut at the back and remove the screw holding the tuner to tthe main board.
The next bit is tricky
The tuner is now held to the board via a zif socket. You need to gently push the bottom of the tuner outwards to the left (towards outer edge of casing).
push tuner to the left side and with a wiggle ease the tuner out.

be careful but the whole unit will come out.

I will tell you what to do after you have done this / or you may see my original post with the pics.

Now you have the tuner, straighten twist peices and remove the tuner lid.

You should now see the circuits inside the tuner

Carefully Cut the track at the red line with a stanley Knife in two places and remove track in middle or lift the last leg of the chip as in the pic, do which ever you think is easier.

Then replace tuner lid and re-assemble.
The talkback should be disabled, you can test it by trying to access interactive services, it should say not avalible.
