Hey guys.

I was wondering if you could help me.

1. could i get free tv channels (Movies,Sports) on this box in anyway and my area is nagra 3?

2. If i cant, say if i pay for card sharing, what will the card sharing site give me and how will i set it up?

3. Is this a good box by the way?

4. Ok what it is my father boss has got an chipped ntl box but he is still getting all the channels but he haven't put in the new card nagra 3. How is that, i thought it blocked it or somthing.

DM500S is a sat box and not a cable box unless you change the tuner to cable then it will work on cable, but even then it wont be much use to you as no one has setup a c/s server to support the dm boxes yet on cable. Sky UK use NDS videoguard.


2. If i cant, say if i pay for card sharing, what will the card sharing site give me and how will i set it up? you need to google it. Not allowed to talk about sat c/s on this site.

3. Is this a good box by the way? yes if you know how to use it and make the most of it then its a brilliant box.

Some areas are still running the Simulcrypt @ the moment. Meaning the 1800 stream is still active along side 1841 which is why hes got the channels still working.

If the area has gone N3 then you would need to invest in either a SV or a KV box.

SV - Starview
KV - kryptview

Its just a shot way of calling them boxes as sometimes am too lazy to type the full name

And yes you will get all your channels for cable back if you get one of those boxes.

I am new to all of this so i have never had a modded box before but i will have a look around but could answer this please to see if im on the right page, il give you some information on my area and stuff.

Im in nagra 3 area.
Im with virgin media using the new cards.

So i buy one of those boxes that you mentioned, Flash it, scan, there should be all channels (sky movies,sky sports etc)

Is that correct? to me i dont think it will be that easy :P

It is that easy!!!! and yes you will get all the channels.

Just remember the box needs a permanent conection to the Internet.

Does it matter what model kryptview or Starview box to get or any will do?

Also will wireless be ok?

you can get home plugs if you router is far from the box.

you need a KVA780 or starview 6 or Starview Combo

any one of those boxes will work just fine.

recommended box is KvA780

Am on the sat side and have evrything required to satisfy my needs

Got a ITgate TGM220, Openbox S9 HD PVR and DM800 HD coming in few days.

I ditched Cable 12 months ago.
