Ive heard something too,

if you go to gum tree you will see people are actualy saleing the boxes original vm boxes ie samsung 3110c etc. i called up one of the guys saleing it who was in birmingham. He said to me that what he does is he works for virgin and gets unactivated boxes sales them and activates them through the inside. I asked him if he could reactivate the old boxes that have gone off and he said you cant as they have all been blacklisted and can not be put back on the network. he did sound really legit.

once the n3 card and box has been activated he said it should last about 8 months. He also mention all the dreamboxes are going to go off in the next few weeks.

you just dont know what to belive.

As suggested above, this is simply dodgy VM engineers/callcentre staff doing things they shouldn't be doing. They just authorise a card to a package that has not been paid for usually by using one of the many staff account codes.

This isn't a hack (there isn't any meaningful hack on N3 and if there was it certainly wouldn't appear first on a tiny supplier like VM). Nobodies even trying to hack VM cards as its all been tried on Spanish cards years ago with a spectacular lack of success !

This particular dodge will almost certainly be picked up in the semi-regular audits that VM carry out specifically to catch this kind of fraud.

Afaik, the dreamboxes have never been on in N3 areas, mainly because people seem to be too lazy to suss out how to use them for CS.

this is what i explained to my friend. after rining him earlier on today he did mention something about a VM engineer "sorting it out" Good job i told him to stay well away.
