Has anyone ever worked on a Toshiba laptop. I'm trying to open one to see if I can replace or repair the power jack.
I have remover all the screws that I could see and it still will not open. Anyone? |

I think you'll find that you have to remove the keyboard.
Why do you believe you have to replace (doubt you'll be able to repair) the power jack? Ensure that the problem can't be solved simply by using a new power lead as the ends can wear. |

Hi - I have an old Toshiba in Ukraine that we use when we're there - The power jack has a tendency to lose its contact properties - I've had so many problems with it but each time I've found an electronic genius - different guys each time - and each has managed - a 2 hour job - to take the laptop apart and solder the powerjack back into a functioning repair - As good as new - But 2 hours of work - In Ukraine nobody wanted more than £5 - 00 for their effort - I think they were just happy to help me - but still I would have paid a bit more to get my communications channel open again ..
