can anyone hep please ? i have an ascentia which powers up but then go's fail retry !
Any ideas guys

Can you please provide more details as to when it stops booting up, do you get to the option of entering the BIOS?
What model is it?

the laptop is a ast ascentia 900n, it powers up to start Win Xp then go's to fial retry,

It sounds as if it's booting up normally then failing when checking the Operating System on the hard drive.
Try booting up in safe mode, usually press the F8 key. on boot up, and select safe mode.
Have you got a Windows XP disk, as you might have to use the repair option?
