Default thinking of getting an iphone - any good?

hi guys from looking around the forums alot of you recomend the iphone

im thinking of getting one, but i have a few questions

im looking at either a iphone 2g (for about £150) or 3g (for roundabout £220)

can the apps that are available now still be used in the iphone 2g or do i have to get a newer one

also i got a surround sound that has a docking station for an ipod touch, could i use the iphone for this as well?

thanks guys

hi .. yeah same old cos it works so well...

op get a 3gs but try get one with older firmware , 3.1.3 is better than ios4 as ios4 causes phone to reboot during calls, which apple are supposedly trying to fix in the next firmware.
there are some available on fleabay for around 250 to 300.
the 3gs is faster than the previous iphones and works very well, new apps available everyday and if you jailbreak lots of apps available at no cost.

but beware of any that have firmware above 4.01 as these cant be jailbroken.

so i suggest checking fleabay for iphone 3gs jailbroken and unlocked allready, there should be some and wil save you the trouble of doing it yourself. but make sure the firmware is 3.1.3 not higher!

when you find one come back and let us know.

regards dave
