Hi all,
I just bought a DM 800 hd (Replacing the dm500) because i wanted HD channels and the image that's on it is gemini. I pluged it altogether to the motor dish and hd tv etc.... but i'm struggling to get USALS working?? I've put in the long and lat numbers to where i live and it can only pick up 0.8w but the signal is only 48/51%, it won't pick up any sats or move the dish. I then put back the dm500 and usals is working like a treat picking the sats i have pre-installed and moving the dish. I then hooked the dm 800 to the sky dish and set to single dish and it pick up all of 28.2 and signal is 80%. So can anyone help me why its working on sky dish but struggling on usals on my 1m motor dish.. Many thanks for taking time to read this and help me with usals |

not saying this will sort it but you might try a new satellite.xml file.
google satellites.xml and then ftp it to /etc/tuxbox/ from my experience, you then need to fully reboot the box twice

I had the same problem when I got my box mate
The reason your signal is low is because your Lat and long settings are kinda off by a few numbers use the Geobytes site (Geobytes Home Page) and get the correct settings. So when u go to the site click on IP locator.. Enter your Wan IP and then you will get the correct / exact Longitude and Latitude settings. As far as the channels listings go u can get that from the Gemini server.. Via the Blue button > Addons and settings I assume you have a Inline amp. try this and post back. Alternatively u can use the Vhannibal Settings and then FTP the channel listings to the box and then enter the Usal settings. On the tuner setup select the option ''Simple''

Hi Tonyten.
I have found when installing DM800 that usals dont like to play ball . so here is what i do and it works flawlesly. manually install sat positions. every sat position must have a number at the end of these individual settings go to tuner menu /set advanced/ set your 1st satellite ie thor 08.w / you can do this with left right function/ go down and set lnb to 32/ go down to diseqc and set to 1.2 /now go to the bottom and set uasls to no/ below you will see numbering ie 001/ set your first position to 1 /press ok and zap back to tuner/repeat this every sat position you choose. i set mine from ie thor 0.8w as no 1, and so on write down the numbers because when using positioner movement you need to set the relevant number sat to positioner saving or it wont work hope this helps |
