PS3 + TV + Surround sound, will they work?

I have a PS3 Slim and a Philips 26" TV. I currently have the PS3 connected via HDMI to the TV, but can connect through Scart if i need. I do not have a Surround system yet. Now, I'm looking at getting this Surround System. It has a SCART IN, so will I be able to use this setup?

PS3 to TV via HDMI
PS3 to Surround Sound via White, Red, Yellow wires into a SCART converter into Surround sound (I hope that makes sense)

Or should I look for a Surround System that has Optical and replace the SCART connection with an optical one?

I only need 2.1 as my room is not massive, but if anyone has any recommendations then please let me know (budget = £100 approx)

The yellow wont be needed in the in the stereo jack cable as that carries Video

if you want the surround sound then you want to connect it via optical as that will give you the ful 5.1 rather then 2.1

but yes your setup is correct... u can convert the scart into RCA if you need too.

Thank You very much. Your reply really helped, exactly the information that I wanted. I think i will probably get it, and use that setup. If i can find one with optical then i will go on your recommendation, but if the system will work with scart then it should be fine for what I want. Thank you very much
