Default How can I not receive all channels from Hotbird?

Hi All
Sorry if this is a dump question, i have search for this in the forum and did not find an answer.

My dish is aligned to receive Hotbird direction. (13.0E)
I Have aTM-5200D usb receiver, which I update with usb for the lattest channels.
I Can not receive some channels, but others are perfect.
why is that?
I thought if I can get one channel from one sattelite i should be able to get all of them.
Am i wrong in thinking that?

thank you all

Yes bit wrong in thinking that.
Not all channels from one satellite are from the same provider.
Different providers use different ecryption systems.
So the channels you cannot open will be from a different provider than the channels you can open.

hi danny
thanks for the reply.
I meant FTA channels, All the FTA channels are in the list of channels available but the receiver says that the signal is weak.

Where are you and what size dish are you using? Is the dish adjusted properly? Do you have any line of sight issues? How long is the cable, is it damaged at all, and what type is It?

The dish is plenty big enough.

You can check adjustment by gently moving the dish and see if thing improve.

To check line of sight, go to dishpointer to get the elevation angle, then make sure there is nothing in the way above that angle.
