Hi all, Im about to purchase this on Orange at the carphonewarehouse
Nokia 1661 on Orange Pay As You Go - The Carphone Warehouse I intend to use it as a spare phone ie: if my phone ever needs repairs(like it does now!) Just wondering if there's any way I can unlock this for free via the use of software? If not, then I suppose its only a fiver to unlock, and I've technically only bought it for £5 Thanks

The thing about codes is that they aren't always likely to work. Also, is it three times before your phone completely locks you out?

10 DCT-4 phones or 10 1661's ? I won't also mind trying this on my Nokia 5800 Xpress in the future when selling it off, if you get three tries!

I bought the mobile today, and also a £10 Orange top up, considering thats what was needed before the phone was available to purchase. The phone, however was already sim free, meaning I won't have to void my warranty in order to unlock it
2 years warranty on a £5 phone-not bad

I thought it may be locked to Orange, considering if I bought it with a T-Mobile/O2 sim, it would cost more
So not bad for a fiver!
