Looking for some help with a new pc i have brought, it is an acer aspire z5700 with touch screen, I want to increase the ram from 4gigs to 8 gigs and put a 1.5 Tb drive in, The problem i have is i cant seem to find a way to open up the pc???
Any help would be get.

Some cases open at the front, the front panel is removable using clips on the side, this was a speciality with some annoying Dell designs.
They are very easy to snap off so perhaps it's best you return it. |

It's quite easy to do...
..obviously annoying that some people 'have a go' at helping, but don't even bother to look up and discover that the Z5700 is actually an all-in-one unit and not a standard PC. Anyways... To change the Ram: There are 3 clips just above the socket, 2 of these can be eased out by sliding a thin tool along either side of the panel, levering gently. The middle clip needs teasing out gently with said flat instrument. Next - IMPORTANT!! - Once these three clips are free of their slots, slide the entire panel down towards the sockets and 'gubbins'. (I wrenched it off which broke the clips that slide into place, which is how I realised it needed sliding out of place - best way to learn is from someone else's mistakes,it beats learning from your own!) The memory is then located under the silver guazy shape which can be removed just by lifting out of place. |
