Default 240kbs on any working MAC?

Hey!

I recently flashed my SB5100 with Firmware: SB5100MoD v1.0.4 Beta. I've scanned for macs using DHCP sniffer and cmsniff.
I've recieved pages of macs but I'm not sure exactly which ones to use so I'm working my way through them.

I've been lucky enough to get online with most of the macs I have tried but they are very, very slow (yes I know I should be happy that I've at least connected). I have a steady download at 25 to 30kb and speed tests show 240kbps. All the working macs I have found give this rate, is this normal? I'm in an ex telewest area, merseyside.

I've worked my way this far reading through these forums.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

you cannot use macs from your own ubr that you have sniffed. This will cause conflict between your cloned modem and the original owners modem. The modems will keep booting each other off. Try to swap macs from anyone near you, but a different ubr or at least a different cpc...from yours....you just have to go through each mac to see which on is a good speed mac..i had a few of these speeds , very slow, eventually i found a 10 meg mac...working great so far...but for how long ?...thats anyones guess...

Thanks for your help

I'm waiting on a trade. Is it best to stop using my connection while I wait for a trade?

Thanks again.

probably a tv set top box mac address...you need the config file to be at least 476 bytes., which will probably be a 20 meg mac....

I've tried many more macs, at least 80 and the ones that worked only gave 0.25 and the config were all around 79 bytes. The macs with larger configs had no connectivity at all?

if the config file is in the 400 bytes range then its good, anything other than that and it either wont work or you'l get .25, also have a play with the stealth settings
