Default Looking For a Box

Hey there,

I'm looking for a box, I've never used one of these boxes before so I was hoping someone on here could give me some insight. I've got a basic VM service at the moment (cable) and am looking for a HD box, what's the best box on the market, I'll be watching a lot of sports (football, boxing) if that helps.

Any help is appreciated.

First of all, don't take any notice of Ernie. He is a guy who spends his spare time lurking around Cable forums whining and complaining about people receiving cable transmissions for free. I suggested that he offer his services to ebay, where he can repeatedly press F5 and notify them of any illegal listings but politely declined. So we know what kind of person he is...he's a troll. And an unwelcome one at that.

Now to the crux of the matter, as has already been mentioned by Clio the A780 is the best option at the moment. For a little backgorund info, it used to be as simple as connecting an alternative set top box to the cable supply and away it went. Since Virgin upgraded their encryption there was supposed to be no way of getting free TV.

Essentially the A780 is a box which you connect to your internet connection and it constantly uses a card-sharing mechanism to stay active. Here's the point I was going to make though, there is no guarantee that these boxes will work forever. They are dependent on people online providing the encryption mechanisms. If you buy one, it could go off the next day, next month, next year or maybe never...we simply don't know.

If you are willing to take a gamble, then go for it. But you need to be sure that if it goes tits up you won't be gutted at the money you've lost!

Personally I'm considering investing in one myself. Thus clio, if you're still checking this thread, could you send me a wee PM as well?
