Default Cpu + Motherboard Problem

Hi im just wondering if anyone can help. My friend wanted to upgrade her computer from a dual core to a quad core. Her motherboard is a ALiveNF6G-VSTA & the processor is a AMD Phenom X4 9850. The board recognises the cpu in the bios and such but the temps arent right. 40-50c just in the bios. I have re-pasted the cpu with arctic silver and it hasnt made much difference. Her ram is reporting the wrong speed also. DDR2-667Mhz on the ram sticker but its only running at DDR2-533Mhz. I have set the memory right but im unsure if theres anything else im missing. All other settings are auto. Win7 X64 refuses to install with a 0x80070570 error. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hey ratcatcher cheers for the reply.

That was the first thing i did mate, I have the latest 2.20 bios on it and it still runs hot. Could the PSU have anything to do with it as its only a 350w? I'm just wondering if a PSU is going to be something she needs also. I'm positive its the board thats the problem as the memory specs are showing wrong on auto. I looked at the CPU support list on Asrock's site and the Phenom x4 9850 isnt on there although people have had it working on other forums with no problem. Win7 x64 got so far through expanding files then it give the above error so i thought i'd try XP x64. After it had finished the "copying files" (blue setup screen on xp) the pc rebooted as it does and the CPU temp was 63c so i turned it off quickly.

P.S we bought a new fan that supports phenom cpu's and it made no difference to the cpu temps really.

Cheers.
