Toshiba acting weird

Hey I have had my Toshiba L300 1 AS for a few years although in I have used it a hell of a lotin the last year since I started making podcasts

In the last few days it has been acting weirdly. It turns on and works fine then after about 20 min it turns by itself. Then when it turns on it operates very slowly. I have read that it could be related to over heating but its seems unlikely given it operates slowly second time round?

If it's turning off then it could be a hardware, or software, issue.
To check this first try running the laptop in safe mode, this will help narrow down the problem.
Usually by pressing the F8 key, on boot up, you get the options for booting into safe mode.
If it is hardware related, due to overheating, this can sometimes be fixed using a vacuum cleaner, it might sound strange but try vacuuming through the laptops bvents, this can clear the dust build up.

hi,could also be a power supply on its way out, does it do anything else just before it shuts down (noisy fan,noisy hard drive etc)
