Xbox 360 confusion..dashboard update

Hello,

I am not all that proficient with the latest news in Xbox world and all the tech stuff thus would glad if any of you knolwledgble ones help me out here.

I got my Xbox 360 modded last week. I have Liteon 74850C and they flashed it with Ixtreme LT 1.1 firmware.

I have read on the net some things like the Xbox is coming up with a new dashboard (does a new dashboard require me to get my drive re-flashed??) and certain games e.g. Fable III require the new dashboard or the game DVD tries to install new dashboard etc..etc..

Its a bit confusing..!!!

BTW it may sound weird but I dont do any XBOX live gaming, just the normal single player stuff but I would like to connect my XBOX to the router as it helps me play videos from my laptop media centre. So in that way even though I dont have live membership I still connect my xbox to the internet (can that get my console banned, as i am sure the xbox communicates to its daddy via the net connection...?)

It would be gr8 if someone can answer my queries so that I know what to do and what not to do in future in order to avoid any problems..

well i have a hitachi 79 drive and have the 1.61 firmware and have updated the dashboard and i'm playing fable 3 the sims 3 and black ops with no problem what so ever hope this helps

right i try to clear bit what i know up if u have lt firmware like me then u can play all games the fable 3 game and theres a couple other 1s that if r played a few ppl say they dont boot and a couple of ppl say they do if they have samsung drives or some version hitachi then the new protection ap 2.5 doesnt come out to play so to speak now all benq...me and liteon drives will not boot any game with ap 2.5 protection on and it will miost certainly flag any xbox 360 for banning if u dont believe me grab yourself a proggie called xval and do the check however my advice wud be whichever drive u have in stay away from the newer games till lt+ comes out as far as hooking 360 up to router that shud be fine as long as thers no discs left in drive i wouldnt really know pal as i dont do that all i got told was the new dash was supposed to kill us but didnt i have been back online on black ops not early and the reason i have been given why this game doesnt contain ap 2.5 is so obvious because its the game thats gunna banned so many consoles any time now so im sure ppl will start saying oh crap been banned playing whatever game then we will all have better idea as ppl keep telling me every time u plug in your console exspect it to get banned as it shouldnt really be flashed with me i dont care if they ban it as i dont really use live too much and when i do it just costs me an arm and leg as the kids what new stuff from xbox shop so have to buy xbox points lololol stay away from fable 3 if u have liteon or ben q drive
