Default Kryptview Questions

There are 2 main points stopping me investing in a KV780a box.

1. I buy it and then lose all the channels as I did with my old box.

2. The servers get raided and VM manages to trace my IP address and I get caught stealing channels.

Does anyone now how likely it is that any of these things might happen?

Hi

1. Possible, it could go off tomorrow.... who knows.

2. Again possible but unlikely but afaik as no one knows where the servers are, IP address again possible and it could happen.

Dont think anyone knows anything for sure so in the end down to you if want to take your chances or not.

Only safe way is to go legit.

Regards

The server is outside EU territory so the chances of it getting raided are very low, however, the server getting raided and the trace of your IP are totally unconnected. If VM start tracking KV users then they do NOT need physical access to the server, they simply set up an IP filter which will then show them all traffic going from their customers (assuming you use VM internet) to the KV server from which they can then easily derive your source IP address (ie, who you are).

That, of course, does not prove that you are using a KV, only that you connected to the KV server.

btw, the KV server does NOT log any IP address or any other data (so i'm told) as its not necessary for its functioning.

Last time I saw, I was making a connection to a European country outside the EU. I thought before that, we were supposed to be connecting somewhere in the far east.

Flagfox is dead at the minute. Otherwise, I could see where on Earth the server is lol

EDIT: It looks like its moved lol to a server outside Europe completely

EDIT 2: It contravenes VM's terms to use their network to connect to a third party receiver, so they can quite easily disconnect you if they wish.

Servers are quite safe and out of harms way, so you either take a chance like the rest of us or take out a sub.

I'm sure there is a cluster of servers situated in various diverse locations. That would give some measure of protection against any particular server or network segment failing.

These guys do seem to know what they are doing when it comes to the network stuff !
